What is a Hope Card?

A Hope Card is not a substitute for a valid protection order, but serves as an easily carried replica of the original order. Victims of domestic violence may carry the Hope Card conveniently in their pocket, wallet or purse. The Card is durable and water resistant to prevent damage.

This card has many useful purposes.

The first and foremost is to assist people who have been granted orders of protection by one jurisdiction to provide an easy way of proving it in another.

The card can be also used in exchange for various goods and services for a person escaping an abusive situation. Many merchants are participating to provide shelter and fuel for the escape.
